For over 40 years, Keys Magazine has been a vital part of Hildenborough, connecting residents with the church, local news, events, and community spirit. None of this would be possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteer delivery team.
As some of our wonderful, long-serving volunteers look to retire, we’re seeking new friendly faces to help us continue this important tradition. Whether you’re ready to start delivering immediately or happy to join our reserve list for when the perfect route becomes available, we’d love to hear from you.
Some areas are more urgently needed than others. Currently we have an immediate vacancy on:
- 21 houses at the bottom end of Coldharbour lane – near Trench Farm

Enjoy a pleasant walk around your local area – a great way to get some steps in while making a difference. Most of our volunteers deliver to roads close to their own homes, so you’ll be exploring familiar territory.
Easy & Manageable Commitment
Our volunteers commit as little as an hour a month, typically around the 1st of each month. There’s a little grace for a few days either side, allowing you to fit it around your schedule. It’s a rewarding way to support your community without a huge time commitment.

What Does a Keys Magazine Volunteer Do?
The Role
As a Keys Magazine volunteer, you’ll be part of our dedicated team ensuring around 2,300 magazines reach homes across Hildenborough each month. You’ll be assigned a specific delivery route, typically covering roads in your local area.
Time Commitment
This usually takes up to an hour of your time, once a month, typically in the first few days of the month. The magazines need to be delivered around the 1st, though we understand life happens and there’s a little flexibility of a few days either way.
Once a year we have our donation drive where there are envelopes to be added within the magazines. It’s up to you and your local co-ordinator as to whether you offer a local collection point.
What We’re Looking For
- A desire to contribute positively to the local Hildenborough community
- The means to travel and deliver along your assigned route (most people cover roads close to their own homes, so you’ll be familiar with your local area)
- Reliability to ensure magazines are delivered in a timely manner each month
- A friendly, community-minded approach

Since 1982, Keys Magazine has been a consistent presence in Hildenborough, linking homes and fostering community spirit. Every month, our dedicated team of around 100 volunteers ensures 2,300 magazines are hand-delivered, door-to-door, directly connecting us with every household.

Your Journey to Becoming a Keys Magazine Volunteer
Step 1: Express Your Interest

Step 2: A Chat with Clem
Our Distribution Manager, Clem, will get in touch for a friendly chat to discuss the role further and answer any questions you might have. This is your chance to learn more about what’s involved and share any specific requirements you might have.
Step 3: Finding Your Route (or Joining Our Reserve List)
Immediate Route: If a suitable delivery route is currently available that matches your personal requirements, Clem will connect you with your local area co-ordinator, who will then be in touch to get you started.
Reserve List: If an immediate route isn’t available, we’d be delighted to add you to our ‘Reserve List’. This means we’ll contact you directly as soon as a route that fits your preferences becomes available. We value having a ready pool of volunteers for when opportunities arise, and there’s no pressure – you’ll only hear from us when we have something that might interest you.
Keeping Our Volunteers Connected
We are always working to improve how we communicate with our valued volunteers. Our aim is to eventually set up a mailing list to share updates and information directly with everyone. For those without email access, we can arrange phone calls.
Once you have a route, your local co-ordinator will be your primary contact and will be there to support you every step of the way.
